A 1997 study showed the oils in this blend of herbs to be 99.96% effective against airborne bacteria. Bear Bridge Farm's 4 Thieves all-purpose natural germ killer also has Tea Tree oil and Lavender oil which strengthen the antimicrobial property of the formulation.
